Tortie Tuesday

This is me, kitties, dictating my bloggie and washing my face and hands at the same time. Now, it's not a particularly good picture in composition or any other way except one...and that is: I am content, I'm here at the computer full of breakfast and I'm going about my life normally and not UTB.

I have to think that the meds have taken hold because I ate an entire can of Fancy Feast a few minutes ago minus a few shards still in the plate from pushing it around, for breakfast. I hate going to the v-e-t but mom and I are looking forward to seeing if I gained any weight next time I go. And it looks like the spacing out of the time to go will now be a reality! That makes us both very happy. I was about to ask mommy for frequent PTU miles on accounta I was hauled in there so often.

Thank you for your reading my blog yesterday and understanding why mom was so afraid for me. We are both hoping that things will continue to get better. Mom and I know there are problems with steroid therapy in the long run but the Vet said that for me, benefits far outweighed the side effects down the road.

Enough of that! Let's celebrate another day and let's celebrate creamy chinned Torties. Me. MOL.

So glad the meds are working. Life will be so much better with less worries and hopefully fewer trips to the vet. Have Mom give you a nice petting for me.

Good morning, ma cherie! I am thrilled to hear about your hearty appetite, and also to witness your toilette. I loves my ladycats freshly-washed. Mmmmmm. I'll be over as soon as your Human leaves for work.

We sure hope you do get frequent PTU miles. But wonder what you will get, hopefully not more trips to the v-e-t. Maybe some extra treats since you are a little hungry.
Our Mom has something to tell you about the steroids. Our sisfur Holly has been on Prednisolone for four years now and so far she hasn't had any bad effects. That is a little difference in these and the prednisone. Are you getting steroid shots Admiral?? Our sisfur Holly gets pills twice a day.
Anyway,we are so glad you are feeling better and eating so much.

We wish WE got Fancy Feast...it's just Friskies Pate for us. Miss Admiral, we are over the moon that you seem to have turned the corner to good health. We certainly know how frightening it is to have a sick kitty at home. Say, do you want to come over and watch pigeons with us? Rupert will save you a seat!

That is great that you're eating so much better, Admiral! I read in the book Your Cat and had it verified by a vet at the clinic I go to that cats who are on longtime steroid treatment come through it with less of a potential of side effects from steroids if they eat a high-protein, no dry-food diet. No studies - just anecdotal info, but it's worth mentioning.

It's wonderful that you ate a whole can of FF. We love this photo of you there with your Mom.
Keep eating, sweet Admiral

I'm so glad you're doing well Admiral. Such a beautiful lady (as if you didn't already know that).

You know, it's not often a lady can eat with the intent of gaining weight. Enjoy while you can. :-)

Oh Admiral, keep up the good eating! My Mommeh bought an electronic baby scale which weighs pounds and ounces and is very accurate. She got it when one of the cats-who-came-before was very sick and she needed to monitor his weight. Now she weighs us about once a month to catch any weight changes in me or Harley.

Harley had lots of Depo-Medrol injections, and he has used lots of prednisone, but the vet said cats usually have less long-term side effects from steroids than dogs. We're keeping you in our thoughts and purrs!

We are glad you had a whole can by yourself. We will be asking our mom for a whole can for each of us too - 5 cans for 5 cats. She usually gives us 2 spoonfuls each. Hmmm...
