Mom has not been a fan of Halloween ever but with that much talked about working the rotating shift work for over 12 hrs. a day (or night) for years, she was never here to hand out candy anyway. The shift work is not an option any longer but she has no interest at all in trying to lure kids here with candy (that I have seen her eat before..any ol' time). So for years and years, the porch light is off and everyone knew I wasn't here. Those kids have moved or just gotten a bit older so..the neighborhood is bereft of kids trick or treating age anyway.
Besides, tonight is the Tennessee-So. Carolina game. Night game at 1945. She'd be watching that anyway.
I woke her up a little bit in the wee small hours and planted my warm pink pads right on her mouth. She had no choice but to kiss my foot! Guess I have her trained. I exploded into loud raucous purring when she did wake enough to weakly give my wee furry foot and pads a kissy or two. Do I have her trained, or what?
So..nothing to report other than anyone knocking on the door this evening will find themselves having to walk the plank. Arrrrgh.

Beautiful Fall Day

Mom said it is a beautiful Fall day out there. She was up on the treadmill and so tempted to get off and go outside and trudge up all the hills. However, I sat there watching her and sending her a thought that she'd be better off on the treadmill for then. If she got off, she would not have finished her workout. She obeyed and stayed up there but went out a little later with the camera.
BeanTown boy thought maybe she should have been put in the brig for a while last blog because she went off and left me. I thought that was an excellent idea and in my way, I had her in the brig this very morning and at my mercy. I spoke rather loudly at 3 in the morning. She woke and patted her pillow which means "come on up". I admit I loved on her then but showed no mercy later at 5 am when I came back singing reveille again. She was fairly decent about it. At 7am I insisted she get up!! I needed my breakfast.
I think I heard her murmur to someone a few days ago that I was a loving but very clingy cat. I may have to cling some more! That'll show her.
All is well here in my small harbor and I hope you sail in to see me. She gets boring and I need other faces and petting. I hope she didn't read that.

I'll show her!

Mom did not get home till after 8PM. Now how's THAT for making me wait for my supper! I always get fed at 5PM when she's here. That is suppertime. If I could hold my supper dish the way Snoopy does, I would! 8PM! I was hungry, people. My sides were caving in. While my sides were caving in and my stomach was scraping my back bone, she was over in the Big City eating popcorn (no idea what she sees in that when there is tender Beef and gravy available. Go figure her out of you can. I can't) and watching the football game in which the Tennessee Vols showed they are indeed rebuilding and not static at all.
We could have won that game I heard her say as well, if only Special teams (the punter!!!!!) would wake up and smell the Fancy Feast! He is the one who lost the game. It was UT vs Ala. Alabama was the top in the Poll. Florida, she said, had fallen to 2 due to the confrontation at Arkansas. None the less, it was a good game and mom believes that UT will once again be the top in college football.
She came home from church and started cleaning house. I had to move from room to room;. She raised me not to be afraid of the vacuum just as she has her other pets. She carried me in one arm and vacuumed with the other when I was a kitten. Works every time. I have the safety of mom and I learn not to be startled so much.
Gotta go. She wants to read the Sunday paper (her favorite thing is to read the silly paper..why does she get irritated when I sit on it and read it too? Is that fair!? I think not.
I know her son took pictures of that baby who was renamed Coco. But he has not sent any to us yet. Here is one that just came in. Mom entitled it "I'm a BIG girl now!"
Ahead full.

Good Grief
I'm going to be stuck all by myself for a long time tomorrow. She is going to watch the UT vs AL game with two of her sons. Over at the youngest ones home. She knows that our team will lose. It's a question as to how much by. That sounded totally ungrammatical. I must ask her to correct my grammar when it needs doing.
If she's gone, who is going to love on me, pet me, give me lots of kisses and talk to me? NO one. I'm mad. She said I'm too spoiled. I say I am just exactly right. After all, who kisses me, pets me, loves on me and causes me to expect all of that? Her! Case closed.
That new baby I wrote about a few days ago is doing well. Her son is going to see her, whose name was changed to Coco, tomorrow. I know mom can hardly wait to see how the baby is doing with her new mommy. I know her son will take pictures. (like I care! No room for a baby in my life..I have all I can handle with mom!) Coco is still drinking from a bottle for all of her meals. Still too little for any solids.
I need to have my tiny little ounce of skim milk. That's my night cap.
Bye for now...ahoy! Avast.

Baby Pic
Mom said she almost didn't want me to blog again because then that adorable baby picture would go away. She has a video of that baby on her blog on Spaces Live and she herself keeps watching and listening to it. My goodness..I may be twelve years old but I am every bit as adorable and beautiful and sweet and precious as that ol' baby kitten is!
You might think she'd never seen one before. Of course when she rescued me, I was about 5 months old. A teenager. Goodness, I used to bite all of her phone cords in two..I did that over and over until she was forced to get the portable type phone. That fixed my little furry wagon alright, I admit it.
I also used to go to her bedroom door and holler at her while she was trying to sleep during the day while she was working her 12 hr. midnight shifts. Got my wagon fixed again because she bought those tough plastic car mats with the stipples that hold it to the car's carpet better, and turned it stipple side up, I'll have you know, so that my delicate paws would hate stepping on that, and she placed them right outside the hallway door. That meant no way could I go down the hall and scream at her door! UNFAIR! I ought to have filed a Cat Grievance on her!!! I'd go to try to bump open the door so I could go down and scream..I stepped on that awful surface..I had to go back and take a nap till she got up. Made me mad..made Mom glad.
I'll wager if I stay in here long enough she'll go look at that stupid video again and go on and on about how cute that blue eyed baby is!!!

A Baby

Mom almost brought home this baby! She is only 2 1/2 weeks old and was found by mom's grandson at school. He brought her home with him after school. Mom was there, as she had traveled there that day so that they could all leave to make a Fall photo trip to Va. where mom is from. When she saw the baby in the box that the grandson hauled into the house, Mom immediately ran out to get the baby kitten milk, a bottle, a tiny fleece bed the size of a mans handkerchief, and some canned kitten food that was a waste as the baby was just too tiny and young and barely able to drink her formula. But they got several bottle into her in the space of 24 hrs and her son got up twice in the night to feed the baby.
Since babies have to eat every 3 hours, they had to try to find someone loving who would take complete care of the kitten. A teacher, just like mom's son is a teacher, took the baby and gave her address and phone so that contact can still be kept with Little Morsel. That's because her son leaves the house just after 6am and is not home for 10 hours and the kitten has to eat every 4 hours or less.
So, I don't have a baby here to share mom's love with. But she would have if no one would have taken Little Morsel. That is a lucky sweetie pie because her life has been saved and she has two servants to take care of her every need. I just have mom!

Oh no..she's doing that again!
She can't fool me. When I see that suitcase out for several days, even tho it's the itty bitty one, I know she is going to be gone for the weekend. Tomorrow morning about 9 in the morning, she will set that burglar alarm and I won't see her till Sunday mid afternoon IF it doesn't snow coming over the Mountains back home again.
She would like to have stayed longer but I am only allowed one day off of meds at the end of the week..that would be Saturday since she won't be here and I won't come out or allow anyone near me so no one can medicate me but her. I bet that's a real bummer for her too. She won't board me unless it's an emergency because I would be traumatized. really. I have never been subjected to anything other than member of the family treatment. I sure wouldn't be getting that in the Vet's office. Besides, the place is full of Vet cooties!! I'd have to check into a rehab place to get over being incarcerated there the weekend.
The pet sitter is expensive and I wish mom could get more bang for her buck by me coming out and playing, being groomed and petted, but noooooo. Not me. I say these things but I can't put them into action.
This is her last birthday celebration. Her middle son is taking her to Roanoke, land of her birth, and the Shenandoah mountains. Been a long time since she was there.
Have a wonderful weekend all of you kitties and human attendants. Ahoy!

Today is Tuesday
I am in a great mood. I have shown that by racing full tilt through the house from one end to the other. Small home so admittedly that isn't too far but still..I am running and enjoying stretching out a little in the race. I'm celebrating my excellent blood tests and the freedom from itching from my allergies. Soon I will have to be gathered up kicking and screaming for another shot though. Maybe three to four weeks from now. I make mom miserable with the awful sounds I emit. She worries too much about the noise I make..I have thought about leaving her a note to that effect. Unsigned of course. I hate going but I am so much happier and feel so much better when I do go.
She got the yard mowed today. That's good as it improves appearance very much. I think there may be one more maybe but not likely. Leaf raking will begin within a few weeks. I heard her say to a friend last night that since her big maple was sadly cut down, her car ( she doesn't have a garage) looks 100% better. The leaves from the maple festered and made nasty hard to remove brown stains and dirt on the car. Pollen and those "wings" (seeds) in the spring didn't help at all either.
She has all but 3 of her pre-bought Christmas presents wrapped. She needs boxes for those, and I use all available boxes myself. So she'll have to go looking.
No one wanted to see me in Flickr when I put up that beautiful picture of me airing out my pantaloons that I have here in my blog last time..so mom took it down in Flickr and put up another.
Bye for now..smooth sailing to you. I am presently in dry dock until I get the barnacles scraped off.

what a day

Mom has been busy as can be. In her blog she explained why..starting with a totally surprising visit from her middle boy and grandson. Never in the world did she expect that! They took up one of their friends offers to tag along while she went to see her grandmother in a neighboring County. She will be heading their way next Friday.
It is 1704 hrs. and she has yet to read today's paper. She did sit and read the Charlotte Observer from Saturday since her son brought it with him. He took the Knoxville New Sentinel with him when they left.
Mom and the boys (there were two of three here) loved the game between GA and UT. UT won handily and it's about time. They were doing very poorly till yesterday.
Mom got the house all spic and span while I laid on my back, my 4 feet up in the air, and I enjoyed rolling in the sunshine while she made my home comfortable for me. I'll have litter tracks all over the place before you can shake a litter scoop! No, I won't allow my precious paws to touch those pieces of plastic they call litter mats. Not for me. Mom already wasted money twice on those.
Here I am..I posted this in Flickr already. I am enjoying the day as it should be enjoyed. Listening to classical music..rolling belly up and airing out my pantaloons. Is there anything left to do? I think not!

Um...well...this is a bit personal (a lot)
I was able to give my human mom yet another undisturbed night of sleep. I am so much more comfortable. I get her up at close to 7 whether she likes it or not but I am not crying any more. I still am OCD about the water bowl..I probably will be a long time. BUT here is the personal part.
When mom went to clean my litter box early this morning..it was normal in there..not like, filled to the brim with clumps from all the water I had been drinking. If I could give a thumbs up to the expertise of my doctor, I would! he guessed it right on the money. The allergy shot took care of all of my woes (till I will need another one in a couple months). But, OCD- R- Us apparently.
Mom is leaving for Charlotte NC next Friday for the weekend. She is confident leaving me in the care of the pet sitter $$$$$ though..I feel for mom. I am allowed 2 days off from my thyroid meds..Wednesday and Saturday so mom can made a very short trip. I am afraid I don't allow anyone else to see me while she's gone, and certainly that includes medicating me. Can't do it if I am hidden. So unless mom boards me, she can only be gone the weekend. She'll not board me unless it is an emergency for real because I would not do well. When she's gone for the weekend, I just rearrange my food till she comes back. The reason for this is, she had a horrendous work schedule and it was just me and her. The family once in a while. So, like other pets who are not accustomed to other people always there..I grew to just trust mom and her boys. Mom was up at 0315 on days shifts, and in bed at 2030. No time for visitors etc. Midnight shifts..in bed at 0830..up at 1515. So..just me and her..I never got socialized to her friends. That's a shame as it limits me when she is gone and I won't play with the sitters.
Oh well. If she ever gets more cats, there will be 2. They can play with one another too, she said.

That's better
I must say, I feel much better now that I have been to the vet. I was pleased not to have to broadcast my presence during the night as I...pardon the expression...caterwauled in the bathroom at my bowl of water. My human was pleased too because I have woken her up multiple time every night. These past two nights have been blissfully silent. Why? because I am not in misery with my allergies. Thank goodness for that shot. I am still by the water dish, all laid out by it that is, but now, I only stay a short time and leave. I sleep on her bed or in a sunny place or on my shopping bag or my tiny box that I splay out on. Not much water bowl duty. The Vet told mom that I am OCD about the water dish right now as I was desperate trying to find relief from my itching. I'll calm down..already have.
I appreciated hearing from you friends. Thank you so much. Makes a beautiful creature such as I, feel appreciated. =^..^=

Me
My human mom was extremely worried about me as it seemed that I not only had hyperthyroidism to keep myself medicated for but we thought I may have also developed kidney disease. No sweet Admiral such as I deserves a double whammy like that, and it would be sure to take me away.
Mom took me to the Vet today and the Vet even said, after mom told him about me almost lying n the water bowl most of the day and night, that "we might have to brace for kidney disease". However, both blood tests (thyroid and kidneys) came back perfect. Turns out I am in desperate discomfort with deep skin allergies and wheezing.. and my skin is deep pink to red I am so inflamed. I was given an allergy shot and so far, I haven't lifted a foot to scratch anything whereas before, I couldn't quit scratching. And, I didn't punish mom for making me go. I laid in the hallway waving my tail when I got out of the hated carrier, and then, after a reasonable drink, I got into her bed.
My mom asked the doctor what on earth could make me lay almost IN the water and cry so much? Was I in pain? The doctor said that he thought that I have been in such misery and didn't know how to sooth my skin so I sought water to sooth my skin. We will all of us see as mom will be watching me like a hawk.
One thing though..I haven't cried out since I have been home and I am asleep in my basket as she types for me. ( I prepared the blog for her...she is just being the typist). I do believe I feel a LOT better!
Ahoy! And, btw, poor mom can finally rest easier. She has practically had me dead and buried. I could have told her (if she had asked me) that I would be OK.

Oh my..

Mom is in here with me because she is so disheartened over her collegiate football team. Bad news. Been bad news since the season started. They have a new coach this year and he is trying to rebuild but it's darned hard to when you have a severe lack of talent to work with. This rebuild will take several years and we have to graduate the ones in there that just can't get the job done no matter what.
Mom left the radio on..she won't listen to it on TV because she detests ESPN's announcers; although the TV is also on. (that's for me to make me feel better..I like watching) but we are both in here.
I think I heard her murmur that she will just read and have the radio on low.
I have a brand new picture of myself..new as of tonight. I hope for admiration so I will post it.
Tomorrow will be busy for awhile so see you then. Ahoy. Land sighted ahead.
