Thankful Tortie Thursday

I'm so grateful my mom found me in a parking lot of a grocery store when I was a little girl. Mom said I was so exceedingly beautiful she couldn't understand how anyone could be so cruel as to leave me starving and alone.

She told me she was still grieving for a little 16 years old girl she and her young sons had reared from 6 weeks of age and who had passed to the Rainbow Bridge because she was so sick with kidney failure.

But she took me, loved me and nourished me to good health and had me to the V-E-T..& had me spayed, and never ever let me out of doors again.

I have been loved so much..everything done for me. And I love my mom back again, very much. I have health issues now as I am an older lady, but mom takes very good care of me and arranges things around my care and good.

I am thankful for my mom and her human sons. I am grateful effury day. ♥♥ I make sure she knows that.

Here I am as a kitten.

Admiral, we're so glad you have such a wonderful mom and forever home!

You know, our grandma and her hubby found a stray tortie years ago (she's gone to the Bridge now, just over a year ago) and Grandma always said she was "ugly." She adored her, but never thought she was pretty. We can't understand why! She was a beautiful tortie girl with typical tortitude. She was well-cared for and loved and lived to be almost 20, certainly was Queen of the House. She arrived declawed too, though they never found her original human(s). She didn't know how to play (Smokey was her name) and we speculated that her human had been elderly and passed away, that she (Smokey) was tossed out after the human's death. But we'll never know and of course Smokey never would tell.

OMC! did you need to make That Woman get all verklempt! Sheesh! She'll probably come home & slobber all over me now!

Anyhow; I for one, am truly glad you found your furrever home and can't imagine how horrible it must have been for such a tiny, helpless girl to be stranded and alone in such a huge scary place full of giant growly 4wheeled things! The mere thought makes even my stout heart quiver. Thanks be to Bast for makin' it this far & showing your appreciation and love to your Mum. They do need that now and again, needy creatures that they are.

Admiral, I am so glad you gotted rescued! I did too, though I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo feral that I am still very suspicious many years later. I am grateful to my Human too for putting up with me cause I am still too skittish to allow much cuddling. But she tries anyway--it's kind of sweet actually. Maybe I'll have to give her a head bonk or two? Naaaah!

I think it was obviously meant to be that you and your Mommy would meet and she would take you home. She needed you to help heal the hole in her heart, and you needed her to survive.

You were adorable as a kitten, and you're just as adorable now. That's what Dante thinks, too.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Kitty Horde nod. Star says, "Our mom made her first official rescue when she was 11. There was a baby gray tabby in the wheel well at the right back of the car. Her mommy & she heard it cry before they started the car so he didn't get hurted. Her mom went to call her dad who was a Mighty Cat Rescuer when they weren't able to get the baby out.

But our mom went to the other side of the car and meowed like a Queen until the kitten managed to get out all by himself!! Mom went into the doctor's office and her mom said, "Never mind Daddy, Kathryn's got him
"

"No one at the office would take the kitten so he went home, just until they could find him a Good Home. HA!!"
