I have been scarce with my company today. Got mom out of bed at the crack o' dawn. Got fed..ate a decent breakfast and then, after half an hour, I repaired to my chamber under her bed. Sigh. No looking at my Nature TV out the front door while it was open before the bad heat of the day. No playing. Mom got me out by calling "Brush?" but I left after a few strokes of the brush. I stayed in most of the day and only came out at 4 to be fed, brushed for real, and loved on. I have been laying in the hallway since but at least, I am out of my inner sanctum.
No, far as mom can tell I am not unwell. I went to the Vet last week. I just seem a little grouchy.

Well ... I can't say I understand the alone thing personally becuz well ... *wimpers* I love attention! ruff ruff Now, my human mom understands kitties. I hear her all the time telling the my human kids to leave Angel and Kristian alone that cats don't like to be handled all the time. I'll hear her say "A cat has to be free to do as she (he) pleases. Let 'em be and they'll come to you for lovin'." Yep .. yep I've heard her say that. Then there's when she yells at me "FLASH! LEAVE KRISTIAN ALONE!" What? He's fun to chase! ruff ruff ruff So, even though I don't get it, Mom gets it.
I think it's just the heat makin' ya feel a bit grouchy. Don't worry. Cooler temps are bound to come ... I hope.
It could be the heat. We certainly hope it's nothing--sometimes a cat just has to have his time in his mancat "cave", alone.

We girlcats have a grouchy day here and there...Kiki is very grouchy lately too, like she has one nerve left and we are getting on it!
