What is there about tiny boxes and kitties?

What draws a mature cat such as myself into tiny places? Here is a box mom's oldest brought for me. To be nice she laid it down never thinking I would even inspect. HA! I have used that box daily ever since. My fur lines the edges inside.

Mama and Me

I had to take care of mama this weekend. She hurt her eye rather badly and wouldn't you know it, on a weekend when her usual medical places were all closed. While it was a frightening eye injury still, it wasn't life threatening so mom could not go to the ER. I made her call one of her sons who came to help transport her to some help in another town near by. But..I made absolutely sure that mom was in bed, a makeshift patch over her eye until she got to some help.

To make sure that she stayed put and did not get into a problem, I remained right by her shoulder all night after bedtime. Of course I looked after her before she got to bed while she was still phoning for a place that was open.

Mama takes care of me when I am not well, and works hard to make me healthy and happy. I love her just as much so when the need is there..so am I.

All fur kids are the same. Our job is to care for our mom's and dad's, so shucks, tweren't nothin' ma'am. All in a days work.

I laid on her feet and looked into her face without cease until I sensed she was more at ease with her situation. I stayed there for half an hour keeping her feet warm with my fur and my love. She's worth it. And she's better now.

What am I? An Old Lady or Something?

Mama bought me a set of steps! Yes she did! She told me it was because when I want to be in her lap when she is at the computer, that if I don't aim precisely right, I miss her lap and hold onto her sometimes bare leg (summer/shorts sort of thing) on my way down for another attempt. Mom does try to anticipate and "assist" me when she can tell I am gauging distance between floor and her..but..sometimes she doesn't pay enough attention and so I have to help myself get into her lap with my handy dandy grappling hooks.

I was scandalized when she set them up next to the computer desk. I asked her if she was implying that I am old and decrepit or what? I made sure to show her I can thunder down the hallway 0-60 feet in a second or two! She said she could too, the show off, and she went on to say that we are both kittens but..sometimes in order to um..er..conserve energy, one uses appliances as in the steps. I have reluctantly indulged her and I have to admit I get a lot of kissies on my head and I get scooped up a lot and loved on. So, personally, I think she got them to help HER! Not ME! She doesn't have to lean all the way over to kiss me now! Yeah. It wasn't that *I* needed those steps! SHE did. I get it now. She agreed. I heard her murmur to someone that it was the only way to get me to use them. I pretended not to hear her.

P.S. That is a china kitty under her desk. Like to scared me to death when she first put it down there!!!

Thank you so much

Good morning fur friends. Mama and I are much more informed we think, about my personality changes and we are so grateful for the inquiry from Daisy http://daisythecurlycat.blogspot.com/ when she made a comment to me last blog.

She mentioned a drug and asked if I was getting that drug in the treatment of my allergies. I was intrigued and asked mom to please research the drug for me. She types faster than I do. Had Daisy not mentioned that drug mom and I would not have known about possible side effects.

Mom knew that the Vet did not like giving me the shot he gave me when I came in with my severe itching and as a matter of fact, he cut the dose in half a few days ago when mom took me in to see him. However, while he always is reluctant and sometimes won't give me the shot, he had not thought to mention side effects. Now we know what some of them are and personality changes may be figured into them.

I have to take medicine for my hyperthyroidism and that too may have side effects. Mom thinks so as she said I have not been the very playful girl I was nor do I snuggle much on bed the way I used to before the medicine. But while that and my calling out the news in the deep dark night night time, waking mama, is no fun for either of us, still, my thyroid is under control. The rest will have to sort itself out I suppose. Mom knows I don't mean it and I wish I didn't feel as though I had to do it.

BUT we understand better now about my medicines and the effects of them. I told mom maybe something else can be done for my allergy. We will investigate together. But she types, not me. I will be busy resting after my rather active night.

PURRS and pats!
