Mama and Me

I had to take care of mama this weekend. She hurt her eye rather badly and wouldn't you know it, on a weekend when her usual medical places were all closed. While it was a frightening eye injury still, it wasn't life threatening so mom could not go to the ER. I made her call one of her sons who came to help transport her to some help in another town near by. But..I made absolutely sure that mom was in bed, a makeshift patch over her eye until she got to some help.

To make sure that she stayed put and did not get into a problem, I remained right by her shoulder all night after bedtime. Of course I looked after her before she got to bed while she was still phoning for a place that was open.

Mama takes care of me when I am not well, and works hard to make me healthy and happy. I love her just as much so when the need is there..so am I.

All fur kids are the same. Our job is to care for our mom's and dad's, so shucks, tweren't nothin' ma'am. All in a days work.

I laid on her feet and looked into her face without cease until I sensed she was more at ease with her situation. I stayed there for half an hour keeping her feet warm with my fur and my love. She's worth it. And she's better now.
