Oh, Admiral, Mommy understands your Mommy's feelings on 9/11 and afterwards because hers were very much the same. She was at work when the attacks happened and she just wanted to get home and be with my Dad. She and some coworkers went to the top of the building and looked east and saw the towers burning in the very distance because it was such a crystal clear day. So awful. Not possible to ever ever forget. She continued to be terrified for months, especially when there were also those anthrax scares, which were not related but could have been.
I was at the computer with the TV (where I could see it) on when the first tower was hit. I immediately called my ex to let him know (he was at work) and then everyone I knew. I cried, prayed, sobbed. One of my online friends was missing for weeks before his death was certified. But what struck me more than the damage was the way strangers helped each other.
I just hope that in all of the remembrance people remember that it was extremists that did that beyond awful deed. The more love we show, the more love will grow. Purrs and prayers for everyone in pain today. May the memories of love outweigh the grief of loss for ALL of us.
We remember too. It was a hard hard day, but all the ceremonies yesterday were beautiful and the memory memorial on GroundZero is perfect. xoxox purrs >^,,^< ♥Abby♥Boo♥Ping♥Jinx♥Grace♥

I am very grateful for those that, despite the terror and confusion, rose to the challenge to help others.
It was a most unforgettable day.

What I remember is that it was a beautiful day, such that the evil that followed was even more stark and dreadful. How can such beauty be so marred?
I pray for those who hold deep sorrow in their hearts ♥
