Mom here:
I'm being shunned and despised as I had to gather up my trusting baby from my bed and force her back to the v-e-t. At least I got to stay with her and she's home again UTB. She hasn't eaten hardly a thing..no matter what advice I followed-- but-- I am now that I have her home, I am headed out for baby food.
Her eating was minimal since she got home a couple of days ago and her liquid consumption almost as bad. Today she was hydrated again and she was administered an appetite stimulant. She'll have another on Monday and he said cease her methemizole for the weekend on the off chance she finally has a reaction to it which, he said, could include a lack of appetite.
She is not a happy camper right now but as all of you know, she had to go. Especially since this is New Years Eve and they will be closed the weekend. We should get through alright. I hope she will still trust me after this and what she went thru several days ago.

Carole, I am only here for a moment as I need to leave for the hospital to see my oldest friend (it's also her bd today). Haven't even done a blog walk but wanted to ck on Admiral before I left. I know you are frantic and worried but also glad she's home even if UTB. Yes, she will trust you again because she loves you. Try that babyfood. In the meantime, I'll ck back when I get home and write something decent to you. I, like you (and everyone else) am worried but not giving up hope. I continue to have you both in my prayers many times a day. I love you both.

Oh gosh Admiral, we are so sorry you had to go back to the vet. And Mom, we truly believe that she will think you rescued her from the vet because you brought her home. Did you ask about the valium? Like I said - it was a miracle for Rudy!
Oh I am so glad to read about the progress. Our vet told us that cats are 'desert animals' so they don't do the water thing (like dogs do). They do get lots of moisture from their food. I'm guessing that's why the bb food works well, it's really moist & she'll get some from that too. I'm really hopeful that she will eat it. And since they've given her an appetitie booster that should help some.

I've read the later posts that the Admiral is doing better. I'd like to send her a postcard to get well if it's OK. For my 2nd blogoversary on 12/28 I said I would send a postcard out to any of my chums would want one.
