I was a GOOD girl

Mom's human son visited with us last night and went home this afternoon and I was an excellent girl!

I let him kiss and pet me for minutes...a long time...maybe 5 minutes when he came in and got on the floor with me. Then, at various times in the evening I allowed kissing and pets all over again. Last night after I sent Mommy off to sleep in her bed with my snuggles, I hopped down and went in to her son, where he had MORE quality time with me before he went to bed.

Mommy said I was a good girl because I am in misery with my allergies, itching and my skin is dry. I am a few days late for my monthly v-e-t visit. I will be horrible to catch Monday morning and I will scream and moan and shout and make mom tear up, but I will feel SO much better after I get done. I need my bloods checked too and a manicure and pedicure. My ears itch terribly from the allergy (the v-e-t assured mom that's why) and when she put the drops into them that the v-e-t gave her to use..I laid these cards on the negotiating table:

"You may apply my thyroid medicine to my ear each day to control my hyperthyroidism OR you may try to squirt THAT in my ears. You chose!" I showed her that I would hide 23 out of 24 hrs if she applied the meds to soothe the itch. She would not be able to give me the hyperthyroid meds if she chose the other med. So, I have caused myself needless discomfort and so off to the Dr. again.

Mommy wishes there was someone here to help her sometimes. I make it very hard to help me.

Oh Admiral! I feel bad for you and your Mom! Are these both medicines that get rubbed/squirted into your ear? Is there any way to combine them and then deliver 'em all at once?

I know how your mom feels, Admiral. I sometimes have made my Human cry actual TEARS when she is trying to help me and I won't let her. Sometimes we touchy kitties just don't know what's best for us. Sigh.

Oh boy that's bad news. Au demands HUGE amounts of treats and then puts up with 2 minutes discomfort when it's medicine time. Maybe that would work for you?

We gave you an award Friday but then got locked out of the Net.

Mommy has to use a gel pen to gently rub my thyroid medicine on the inside tip of my ear. The other medicine has to be squirted in. I am a good girl in the v-e-t- office but I treat mommy really badly here at home when it comes to the ear itch med. So I told her how it's gonna be. She is so upset. Spitty is right, we touchy kitties make it really hard on ourselves and our mom's and dad's.

Admiral, we're glad you were so nice to your mom's human son and we bet he enjoyed spending time with you too! We hope you let your mom do what is best for you with your medicines because you'll both feel better for it.

Oh Admiral, Our Mommy wishes she was there to help YOUR Mommy. Our Mommy is pretty matter of fact...she even did subQ fluids at home when Chuckles was sick!

But we understand...Scouty says he'd rather have his toenails yanked out than have a Human TOUCH him...let alone minister to him.

Mommy says to try to be relaxed and make sure The Admiral gets a reward after the medicine. Kitties can sense anxiety so be as calm as you can be.

And to sweeten the deal, Rupert sends a BIG nosekissie!

Admiral, we're sorry to hear your allergies are bad now. We think you ought to let your mom give you your medicines...they will make you feel lots better!

We're glad you got to spend some time with your mom's son!!

Admiral, tell your mom that the methimazole can be applied to the armpit area--it's time for our Annie to go in to be shaved for it--or around the nipple area. Annie gets it applied in both ears and under armpits, alternating, to give the ears a break. Your mom might not want to have your furs shaved off a bit, but health takes precedence over appearance, in our human's opinion! Good luck at the v-e-t!

Oh Admiral, you were indeed a very excellent girl!

I hope all goes well at the vet and you are feeling better soon. Allergies are no fun.

I bet your brothers pets felt good on your itchy self...but oh, your poor mama...I wish I could help, sometimes it takes someone not related.

Dear Admiral
We are so sorry you have been itchy, but we all completely understand your feelings about medicines. Perhaps your Mommy can ask the Vet what the best thing is to do, or if there is alternatives? We are hoping for the best for you and your Mom...

purrin for Admiral...

Your behavior is understandable. It can't be easy running an entire continent.
