Ain't NO way, ain't NO how you gonna trick me enough to do the stoop and scoop and get me into that carrier and take me to the V-E-T.

I don't care that I would feel better. I don't care that you are worried about me. All I care about is my best and most favorite box right there behind me that I can only get a quarter of me into. Go ahead. Make another appointment and watch my sparks as I tear down the hall and dive for under the bed. I dare ya. Go ahead. Make my day! I can't heaaaaar you!

1. Top-loading carrier. Seriously.

2. Put it somewhere that it can be out and accessible 24/7 so she's accustomed to it.

I have a spare room where I have all three carriers lined up, open, with small blankets in them. I've caught Annie curled up in one of the larger ones from time to time.

When it's v-e-t time, I just close the front of the carrier, open the top, then go off and pick up whichever cat has the appointment, carry them upstairs and plop them in.

Of course that could be harder if the Admiral won't let you pick her up!

Good luck!

Admiral, it is good that you won and didn't let your mom trick you into going to the vets but she's just going to keep trying so you might as well get it over with. Moms have a need to make sure we are feeling as good as we can and until they get it out of their system, no use fighting it. That doesn't mean you have to make it easy on her though!

To the Mom of Admiral:

Maybe you need a blow gun with a tranquillizer dart...like they use in the jungle! That way you can cage your wee wild beastie. Of course if you miss and get your own foot...that might complicate things a tiny bit.

See if you can't coax her into a room with no hiding spots like the bathroom and do the old scruff-n-stuff in there. Wear leather and a mask...you should be OK. I'm assuming you have leatherwear...heh heh!

@ ALL! TRIUMPH! I got the little sucker. Rupert's words in her ear distracted her!!! We just got back and her allergy shot alone will make her feel tons better in a day or so. Don't tell anyone but her...ahem...anal glands needed expressing. That's not for man cats to know. We girly girls have our secrets. Vet said that too will help.

Boy Admiral you're feeling your Cheerios today!
They need "expressing"?

You know what Admiral? My Human cannot get me into a carrier either.

So there.

But, in your case this time, you might be smart to cooperate so she won't keep harassing you.

My Human has given up, but I don't know what will happen someday when I get sick!?

Admiral, Mom unzips my carrier on the end and stuffs me in it. I don't like it, but I let her have her way and I cry all the way. She talks to me and tells me it's OK. Your friend, Kassey
