Kitties! I came this close to a very bad situation yesterday morning!
Mom had gone to work out in the morning and stopped at the grocery store to buy a half a gallon of milk and three others items..half and half, etc. She came home, gathered the three plastic grocery bags from the car, stepped up and unlocked the kitchen door. I was there to greet her of course.
She laid the three little bags on the dryer or tried to so she could lean down and greet me, when a horrible crash happened. The half a gallon of milk fell through the plastic bag and hit the floor. Kitties, that half a gallon of milk fell right next to me. It may have brushed my furs it hit that close. Mom's life flashed in front of her eyes. She would have been completely destroyed if that had hit me. Thankfully it did not and she does not like to think of what would-have-been if it had. The jug burst open and there was milk running everywhere. Me, I stayed right there and investigated the streams of milk running rapidly everywhere on our wooden floor.
I didn't startle, I only moved a foot or so as mom frantically tried to gather anything to stem the flood and get the rapidly emptying jug off the floor and into the sink. Even towels from the bathroom.
Mom stopped to apologize to and to pet me as she threw towels into the cold white mess. I was calm. It was a horrible few moments for her but my trust in her and her care of me is so intact I knew she wasn't doing anything to cause me hurt. She told me that sometimes there are things that happen that are not her plan or doing although she tries to protect me always. I know she does, and she's my hero.

Phew what an ordeal, we are glad you are safe...it must have given your mum heart failure!!! Did you manage to get a sip of milk before it was all cleaned up!
Oh your poor mum Admiral - she must have been so frightened you were hurt and/or frightened. We are so pleased you weren't. Purrs to your Mum from us to help calm her down.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Well clearly we have to send the message to your MOM that we are so glad nothing worse happened and hope her heart rate has gone back to normal now. Miss Admiral, it is clear that your heart rate stayed steady because you trusted her completely and maybe even thought she was just coming up with a slightly unconventional way of giving you a drink of milk. A BIG one because Christmas is coming soon!
Did she have to go back to the store for more milk? What a hassle!
Cool, calm and collected under pressure! A real Admiral you are!!!!!
We're so glad you're safe!
Purrs,

Oh gosh, that sounds like an exciting few minutes. Glad both you and your Mom are all right. That was a close call and I bet almost had a heart attack. Not to mention losing all that milk. But at least no one got hurt. Take care. Hope you don't have any milky days.
whew! cant believe you didnt high-tail it outta there!
Glad you are both ok <3
Oh, my! That was a close call sweet Admiral and we are so happy that jug did not fall on you. You were such a good girl to have not moved while your mom was cleaning up the awful mess of milk flowing everywhere. We hope all the mess is cleaned and you two are cuddling and enjoying each other. That could have been a very sad situation and we are so happy it was not. That had to have been scary. We are sorry about the loss of the milk but it can be replaced. Hugs and nose kisses
Wow, that must have been scary, Admiral! We're glad that big jug didn't hit you!
We have never known a cat crushed by milk...and we are so glad that you were just out of harms way! Oh...did you get to lap up any of that 'spilled' milk? Well, don't cry over it, hahameow!
I am so very glad that you and mommy are both safe. Did you have a tiny taste of the milk while it was going in every direction?
xoxoxo
Oh dear, Admiral. That could have been very bad. Happy you are not hurt. Your Mom would have been so upset. She does take the best care of you. That's how much she loves you. Hope you are eating and taking your pills. You have been such a good girl.
Hugs

Gasp! OMC - thankfully nothing happened to you, and M and I are so impressed with how calm you stayed. I probably would have taken off in a flash and hid until the excitement died down. I trust my peeps too, but it would have really scared me anyway. We so admire you for being so very calm. Hopefully mom has calmed down now and can just file it away as a bad memory. SMOOCH
I'm so glad the milk didn't fall on you, Ms. B! Your mom is a great lady :-).
Thank CAT you're all right Bianca! Your Mom must have been so scared-I know mine would have been. Main difference is I would have been gone in a flash when that milk hit the floor! You're a very brave girl! So happy everyone is all right! ((HUGS)) OxOxO
I am so glad you are all right, Admiral! That's amazing that you were so calm... and I am a little surprised you didn't take a lick or two of milk while your human was cleaning up.
OMC your human had a TW moment! I just LOVE to see TW on her knees cleaning up a disaster. Makes a great blog. You should've been helping her clean up the milk. Thank goodness you didn't get hurt. BTW, I read your comment to Spitty—remember you're married now and he's NOT yours so don't even think about it.
Ugh!
My gosh. That first sentence had my heart pounding hard. That must have been terribly scary for your Mom. We are glad everything turned out okay, except that Mom probably needs to go out to get another half gallon of milk...
We're glad the milk didn't fall on you Admiral! We know your mom will move heaven and earth to protect you so you have every reason to trust her. We trust our mommy too but think that commotion would have startled us some but then we would have helped clean up the milk!
We live with Jan so we're used to things that go crash. So glad you weren't injured. Or your mom. (That she didn't drop it on her foot.) Did you just investigate or did you taste test?
YIKES! Thank Cod you are OK! We bet you Mom prolly nearly had a heart attack, though...
So, did you get a nice drink of milk?
Oh it must have been such a scary moment for your mom! I know you trust her so you stayed calm, but as she mentioned, things happen... I once dropped can of corn or something and I was glad my kids were not around!
Have a great weekend!!
Whoa...I'm glad it didn't skwish you! But me...I would have run away like my tuckus was on fire!
WHOA! That sounds very skerry. Admiral, you are so brave, I would have run away lickity-split.
Miss Admiral

Now, me, darling? I have enough startle reflex for 400 kitties! That experience would have sent me UTB for about nine hours--in fact, I might still be there. Your Mommy is a hero but YOU are very brave1!
Catnip? Tea? Why, I'll take YOU, thank you very much XOXOXO
Wow! Did you get wetted by the exploding milk? We would have run, trust or no trust. Accidents happen!
We are glad that you are safe and sorry your Mommy has a few new gray hairs.....Take care of yourself and we know your Mommy will be super careful from now on! PT
Dearest Admiral Hestorb!
Me is in awe! If that had happened at our house, me would have climbed Mommy, using all my ever so sharp claws and there would has been blood as well as milk flowing across the floor. Yous is one cool cat!
Kisses
Nellie
PS Kozmo thinks yous is just adorable peeking out from the paper sack.
Wow, Admiral! We're impressed that you kept your cool even though there was milk everywhere! Your poor mom, though!!

Wow! We are glad you are safe...that would have been horrible to have been hurt by something so very tasty and ::chirp:: wonderful.
Um...I think I would have tried to clean up the milk by myself.
Purrrs,

Oh Admiral, you are brave. Did you help mom and lap up some milk?
Phew, we are so glad that you are not hurt! I would have been lapping up the milk...just meiowing.
We're glad you were safe, Admiral! Very scary indeed. The CB says today is your birthday (Sunday), so we came to wish you a wonderful day with extra treats and cuddles!

Sweet Admiral, we're so glad everything turned out OK and you're not hurt. Mom had leaky eyes when you said Mommy is your hero. She loves you so much but you know that.
