Friday Noos

Kitties, I had a wonderful big breakfast and instead of standing there to get my med for the hyper-thyroidism I went straight into my condo. So, later I guess. Here's a word from mom. Mom..take it away.

Mom here. I thought there may be a few who missed why I don't force pills down Admiral's throat. It's a matter of how different cats have differing personalities mostly. When meds have been forced on her in the past, she has hidden all day every day for several weeks. You'll force her once and you'll not force her again is the result. And her quality of life, i.e. hiding in fear all day long is not a good way to live. Other kitties don't do that but mine does. I haven't the heart to frighten my older girl like that after having seen the results in the past. So I patiently try to persuade her. Back to you, Admiral.

I sang and announced off and on all night. I have my solo down and ready for karaoke! I'm taking applications as to who might wish to join me for the 3:30 am set. Any takers? Mom really appreciates my effort and I know hearing more than me would make her shriek with delight. I love the appreciation, don't you? And I announce the results of my patrols. One that caused her alarm was: We have a mouse in the house! I was set up in battle mode before bed and after I got her up. The kitchen. It will be interesting.

I have asked this furiend of mine pictured on his steed to help me capture the introoder.

Sorry to hear you hate pills too... When I had a thyroid problem, my vet referred HH to the speciality pharmacy. Instead of pills, they made a gel of the medication and HH massaged it into the top part of the inside of my ear. It was absorbed there or sometimes I would rub it with my paw and then I would lick it off my paw. Either route was acceptable. I took the medication twice daily for years that way. This may not apply to you, but you might have your mom ask about it.

Regarding the 3:30 am singing... I'll be glad to sing backup for you... doooo-wah... doooo-wah!

Have a great day.

pawhugs, Max

Good Morning Admiral and Mom,

Admiral, it is so nice of you to serenade mom during the night. I know she really does appreciate it.

Mom (Twin) I know how much you love the Admiral and that you would never force her to do anything.

Admiral, Please take your med for mom.

Admiral - thank goodness you are not a goody goody - I still lead mum a merry dance with my tablets too. Mostly I eat the small amount of food she hides my ground up pill in but then I suddenly rebel and back away as if it was going to poison me. That way I know she hasn't forgotten any words on her naughty word list!!
It pays to keep them on their toes.
Luv Hannah xx (& pill free Lucy xx)

Hi Admiral. I know you are a fighter. I admire the way you make your mom dance. I myself have led san in a furry merry dance. I let her fink I have taken my pill and then I spit it out wifout her knowing...hehehe. This evening she saw my spitted pill under the table. I know san likes surprises so I try to give her a few effuryday.

Those pills are hard things. We are all pretty good about the pills, thank COD. But we understand you you feel Admiral. We had a sister who went to the bridge a oouple of years ago, that hated pills. It was super hard to give it to her too. But we are so glad to hear that you are eating well. Take care. We agree with Mom, that she shouldn't force the pills down your throat Admiral.

I'm so glad I don't have too much of a problem giving any of the cats in this household pills. I don't force pills down Whisky's throat because she had a slipped disc at her neck and I don't tilt her neck in anyway.

Boomie says he's on his way now to make it at 3:30am! Oh, and he said he'll help you capture the mouse too (and you don't need your other furiend)!

Admiral, you be a good girl and take your pill. What kind of songs do you sing to serenade Mom? I'll bet they are real nice. Hope you get that mouse, intruding on you and Mom. Well the nerve.

If you want to do 2AM karaoke Nicki will be happy to join you. He's quite the singer at that time of the night. But by 3:30AM the mom's usually awake and groaning and moaning about having to get up.

We hope you do take your pill later, Admiral. Max's suggestion of having it compounded is a good one, though not all meds work well that way. But if this one does, maybe your mom could check into it.

Admiral Hestorb said...

That was interesting Fuzzy Tales. I actually tried the gel form of steroid and it absolutely did noting. Not enough could get into my ststem. The V-e-t- told mom that but she had to try for herself. After a blood test 2 weeks later we saw that I was worse off with no steroid in me due to the ineffective gel.

I hope you are having a lovely nap in your condo and will comeback out for ear gel and for some lunch and then some supper. Keep up the eating and playing and cooperate most days with your meds, please.

That is true pretty Admiral, we are all different, and your Mom knows you the best. You are very wise and will have your pill later, when you are ready! Have a great weekend!

Your mum is so right not to stress you as that would be worse. Can they not give youy liquid meds. I got some that dad gives me in a syringe and its easier than pills.. Hugs GJ xx

Oh, we understand about the pills. Every cat has a different personality, and we are glad your mommy recognizes this, Admiral!

Sammy will GLADLY join you for the 3:30 AM set. He LOVES to sing ... just ask mom and dad. MOL

Hugs and nosetaps,

Moosey

Oh Admiral, you have such a good mommy taking care of you!

Sookie lets me *think* I've dropped the pill down her throat, then she spits it back out at me!! :)

Mariodacat said...

Sweetie - good explanation as to why your mom can't force pill down you. You do enough hiding as it is anyway, she'd never see you if she forced a pill down your throat. But first she'd have to catch you first. he he - I can see it all now - ADMIRAL - winner! Now I don't care what time today that you eat your pill pocket, but please just eat it or you'll have to go back to the v.e.t. again. There's a smooch for you after you have eaten it.

As you probably guessed, I am one of those kitties who gets over it almost immediately after having a pill shoved down her throat. In fact - and do NOT tell my human this - even though I act extremely fearful and tremble when I go to the vet, once I am back home I am back to normal in 20 minutes or less. I guess nothing bothers me much for long!

I luvs to tell momma to get back up out of bed at night so I would luvs to join my furriend. MOL

I sorry to hear you would hide likes that after having to take a pill. Your momma knows best from experience and she luvs you very much. Now only if they made pills really tasty right?

Admiral, we don't sing at night but we'd certainly learn how to to join in with you! It sounds like fun! We only wake mommy up by walking across her and at 5am pawing at her cheek to lift up the covers to let us under. We hope you do take your pills. Our mommy would never make us do anything that upset us either so we understand why your mom won't force the pills down you. Purrs to you Miss Catt!

Admiral darling, You resist with all your furry might! I did yesterday. Boy was it fun. Fur and claws everywhere. And when mom crunched it in my food, I turned my nose up and starved all day. Tonight we must sync watches and we can join together in singing: Ahem

First I was afraid
I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live
without you by my side
But I spent so many nights
thinking how you did me wrong
I grew strong
I learned how to carry on........

I will survive >^,,^<

I will be there to sing with you my pretty Admiral, the time is purrfect! Its one of my favorite serenading times. I'll sing sweet nothings in your ears, too! Shall I bring a couple of mice for us to play with? I am champion mouser here.
The mom says your mom is purry wise. Her cat Lumpy had kidney failure and needed sub Q fluids but it was so difficult and traumatic for him she and the vet decided not to do that. She left water dripping at the faucet instead cause he loved drinking that way.
Purrs, Carlos

I'm singing as I dictate this comment to TW. HHGutt & I have sung arias from The Marriage of Figaro at 3 a.m. As for the vermin, TW thinks I have eye floaters cos I'm always spooking her by "seeing" things crawling or flying around but she's never seen any real vermin. I will bring her a mouse someday, I promise.

Admiral...a mouse in the house??!? We would love to teleport over and help you catch it!!!

Ah my dearest, You should never worry your pretty, furry little head about Spitty's loyalty! Though his eye may wander and rove hither and yon, come nightfall, you KNOW where's he'll be, right?

Speaking of which, I'll meet you on the red blankie @ 2 a.m. and we'll sing a grand chorus for yer mommeh.
