Who'd a Thunk it?

Mom was thrilled to see a hairball last night. THREE of 'em. Thrilled.

She came home from a lecture last night (Bill Fortney, famous photographer) and found three hairballs on the floor to greet her. This was a thrill to her because for well over a year I have not horked up a single hairball despite my long furs because I was not grooming any more than my feeties and face.

Mom had to help me with a warm damp cloth and brushing. I just didn't feel well enough to groom. But since coming home from the hospital I have been grooming. That's what startled mom awake that first night..me laying along side her back washing my furs and she being totally un-accustomed to it for a long time thought I was having a medical emergency. She did. I wrote about it last Friday I think it was. So, around here---hairballs are welcome. It means I feel well enough to do that. Oh and my furs are growing in on my nekkid leggie. xox

Well, it IS unusual for a Mom to be celebrating a hairball, but we get it completely under the circumstances. Round here, Simba can lose his appetite and be looking a bit "green": then a hairball upchuck will set things right again. So the humans here celebrate a little bit for that reason.

Ha ha ha! A Human who appreciates a good furball! Excellent! Me, I try to leave them in strategic spots where I know she's likely to tread during an unscheduled night-time trek to the human litterbox room. Score!

So happies you are feeling well. See you tonight?

I'll be sure to tell my human that SHE should celebrate hairballs. Seriously though, I am glad you're feeling well enough to groom yourself!

You must be feeling better now! Yay! Oh, your mom was wondering about the big urine clumps. Older kitties can't concentrate their urine as well as youngsters so instead of egg sized clumps, you will see 'palm sized' pancakes. Cornell has a great, understandable video on how the kidneys work in kitties and it explains a lot in understandable terms. Here's the link: http://partnersah.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/kidney-disease

I think you meant to send those hairballs to Spitty to help get rid of his unwanted guest. I'm glad you're feeling so much better but I think you need a FURminator to help you with your beauty regimen.

I can see why your Mummy would celebrate at the sight of not one, but THREE hairballs.

Boomer wants you to know he's gotten the hammock ready and waiting for you to come snuggle with him in it. :)

Oh that's funny Miss Admiral! My friend and I were laughing the other day as she'd just brought home a new kitten and was delighted that it had done it's first 'poop' in the litter tray! She asked me if I had been the same and I had to confess that yes - I was a poop monitor too when Darcy and Sookie first arrived :)

Dear Missie Hestorbieflower, I hope your mom saved those hairballs. She could keep a collection in the freezer
and when she has a bunch of them she could have them spun into yarn and have a pair of winter undies knitted just for... HER.
