Mommy is taking this day to remember Robin, who came before me. She was the smartest girl ever and she helped raise my three human brother beans. They loved her very much and when she went to the Rainbow Bridge, mom nor the brother beans wanted another baby because they couldn't bear going through the pain ever again of losing one. But Mom saw my face and fell totally and deeply in love and you know the rest of the story. *smiles*.
Robin was also a Tortie, mostly black with designer orange and butter yellow arranged attractively. She was a petite girl who once only got to 7 pounds. Her fighting weight was 6.3. She was an indoor-outdoor girl who was not allowed to be out after supper time. Her territory was small..three houses..and she looked both ways for traffic before she crossed the road (she did..mom saw her do it over and over). When she wanted to be fed, she went to the cabinet with the paper plates and pawed it open and if they were within reach, she knocked them down onto the counter. Then, she truly went to the Fancy Feast cabinet and opened that cabinet door too. If she could she knocked down a can of Fancy Feast. She couldn't open it but she knew the racket she made (mom and brothers loved watching her) would get the can opened and the contents into her plate.
She was a fierce hunter and we never learned to look at her before we opened the door.. hence many small rabbits, small squirrels, birds, mice, snakes too along with chipmunks and lizards were brought in to add to the larder. Mostly however, they were alive and therefore started a foot race with mom or the boys to capture and release them. We lost more times than we won.
Mom and my brothers still talk about her with love and now with smiles. She was deeply loved just as I am. I came to live here two years after Robin went to the Bridge at 16 years of age. She's my mentor. Her date of passing became my birthday. December 11th. I was a rescue so we don't know my real birthday except approximately. Here is to Robin's sweet memory. ♥
This is Robin saying her prayers..she did this frequently.

What a bootiful tribute to another sweet furbaby. I loved the story about her getting her own food. So cute.
Robin was a pretty cat and we can tell by how you spoke about her how much she was loved. She was very clever getting her own plates and food out the cupboards.

Such happy memories of a beautiful girl who was evidently very resourceful when it came to food of any kind. :)

Bravo, very well written. I am sorry for any responsible pet owner who loses their beloved companions. Really, the only fault that our four legged friends have is that their life spans are too short. We take the time to remember an dgrieve over our human companions, it only seems fitting that we humans mourne for our furry friends.
What a wonderful and heart touching entry!
What a beautiful tribute to Robin and you are lovely cat for your mum too.

Robin sounds a lot like the cat before me, Harlot, who was also quite a fierce hunter... and a calico!
Thanks for sharing Robin's story with us, Admiral. We can tell she was loved lots. She will always live on in your heart!
Wonderful Tribute of Robin.
I do soft purrs for all furry angels

What a great story about Robin. And the Human loves the phrase "saying prayers" for the face-plant position, MOL!
Sweet Admiral, you know, I **DO** happen to have a few jars of your favorites. Come by later tonight and I'll let you lick the hams right off my manly paw ;-)
That was a pawsome tribute Admiral Hestorb! Me spent the day working on the Licorice Memorial Cat Garden and remembering all who went over the rainbow bridge!
