Kitties! Here is an example of training mama and why it happens (I fink).
This very morning at 0730, mom had already given me breakfast, had hers and was sitting with her coffee trying to read email and skim her various accounts and help me with mine too. Lately, this is the time I ask to play as I have mentioned in previous blogs.
This morning, after spurning my wet fuds and cruising past mom here at the computer I kept meowing and meowing..a medium pitched and medium loud meow. Nothing urgent..just attention seeking. Mon finally paid attention on the 5th meow and got up to see what the matter was. It was me..crouched in the middle of the unmade bed with my rear parts up and my tail was whipping back and forth. AH! Daylight dawned on mom and she hurried off to get the fevvers. We played 'what's under the bed covers' and 'how fast can I catch your hand' for awhile. Then there were those darned kisses.
These last bloggies of mine have mentioned play efurry day and it's significant because I wasn't playing at ALL except an occasional 30 second thing...sometimes. It is significant that I'm playing as it means I am feeling good so mom drops efurrything if she can, and plays to encourage me. Goodness Kitties, it took me only seconds to train her on this one.
I noticed she didn't panic because I left my wet fuds sitting there. That's good. She doesn't need to go into a swan dive over this efurry time. I don't like icy cold fuds and I don't like 8 seconds in the microwave either! So, it warms to a more room temperature and then I eat it. If not, mom takes it up after an hour or so, and I'll be hungry for the new fuds for supper and I have my dry fuds in between.
So, this is how I train my mom. If you sit and call..dey will come. ♥

If you sit and call ... dey will come!! not in this house they don't!. We are going to make mum read this and make placards telling her she is a lazy bones!
It sounds like you have done a furry good job at training your mom, Admiral! Oh, and mom likes to kiss our feeties too! Can we felines help it if we have the cutest toes? We are so glad you are feeling better and wanting your morning playtime. That is excellent mews!

Then we walk toward the food bowls (to show they are empty or need fresh food), walk to the door so she knows we need to go ouuut (or someone needs to come in) or stare up at her so she knows we need loving and attention. Excellent job of training your mom! I haven't played much recently, but my mom is hoping the Cosequin will help with the joint pain and I'll start playing some again.

I sit and meow on the counter in the kitchen so Mom will get up and turn the faucet on so I can have some fresh clean water. I think I am training her well!

Naughty kitties, I do the same thing every time I here one of mine randomly meowing from each part of the house. Then they just stare at me like "what?" hehehe
Hi Admiral! First we have to say how happy we are that you are feeling better and wanting to play! We understand about the foods - sometimes it just isn't what you want. We are the same way. But we also understand why your mom was worried before too, since you had not been feeling good for so long. We are so impressed with how you have your mom trained. We have been working on ours for YEARS!
Your technique sounds purrfect Admiral! We kinda have our beans trained like that too because one of us just has to make a tiny sound and we hear a "what baby?" followed by them coming to find us to make sure our needs are met whether it's treats, play or to have the closet door opened. Sometimes we just lead them all around the house to show them who has the power here. It's crazy how easy these beans can be trained!

All I have to say is, HA ha ha ha! First of all, she may come when **I** call, but I almost never come when she calls (as it should be). Then, let's just say "somebody" would be bleeding badly if she tried kissing MY feet. As if! Yewwwwwwww.
However, **I** would be happy to kiss YOUR feetsies. Anytime.
You've got that mom of yours trained pretty good, Admiral...'cept for that cold fuds thing...
Miss Admiral, you got it! My mom learned that if she just pays attention to me the first few times I scream for her, she can go back to sleep sooner. Otherwise, I'm gonna keep screaming until she comes to see what I want her to see!!
