Kitty Hints

Kitties, mommy and I say fanks for the sweet puurthday wishes and as she was cleaning up around and after me this morning, she thought of something she does that your mommy's might want to do to save some money for more treats!

I like to relax full length on top of the couch back rest. It's so soft and mooshy there. I am long haired so I leave a lot of gorgeous floof any and everywhere I lay out. Now, mommy used to buy those scraper looking thingies to get my floof off of the furniture but it never did a very good job. She read about using a plain old "rubber" glove such as those our mom's use for doing dishes and things like that. Works like a charm!! It's something that our moms usually have on hand and she doesn't have to buy those sticky rolls that hardly work or those odd gadgets that barely work. Your mom can run her "rubber" gloved hand over the fur and it comers straight off! NOW! Guess what else she found out by accident, kitties~!

I track my litter particles around when it stays in between my adorable toesies. Mom finds particles and floof on the couch and other places that I like to sleep. She took her small hand held little cheap plastic dust pan with whisk broom combination she bought to get the litter off of the couch. Guess what? The so-called "exploded" bristle ends on the whisk broom not only brushed up the litter particles BUT it also caught all of my fur in the ends of those bristles.

To test that further she went into the spare bedroom and whisked the top of the bed spread with that whisk broom (remember--it seems the "exploded" fuzzy looking bristles work best) and ALL of my fur she didn't even notice came off! Kitties! Your mom can save her effort and money on devices that barely work and use what she has and it works great!! I enclose a photo of me laying down a soft nest of fur to cushion me each time I get to the top of the furniture. ANY furniture.

Um, Admiral, you're assuming that Mommy does housework. Do you know how Daddy cleans? He opens all the windows and uses the leaf blower to dust. We do not lie. This is why Mommy leaves every day and goes to work. Daddy is a nut.

Oh YES, that rubber glove is great, great, great and I use it, too. But never would I ever have thought of the whisk brush with the "exploded" ends. I am buying one of those the very next time I head out to the grocery store. Can't wait! Best little tidbit I've heard in AGES. Thanks, you gorgeous girl, you. Yes, you, Admiral :D
XOXOXO

Aha, the rubber glove, the ape says it is a miracle!

Poor Admiral, I have just read of your reaction to the mega-flea medicine. Strikes me that those are an awful lot of things for one treatment to treat and it's no wonder you felt poorly after. I do hope you are fully recovered now dear.

Belated Happy Twelfth Birthday too Admiral, you don't look a day over six!

The Human says Fank U for those good $-saving tips.

But I dunno, Admiral. I'm not entirely sure I approve of the Humans going around removing all the traces we so thoughtfully leave of ourselves around the house. I **like** the way the furniture smells and feels after I cover it with a nice layer of furry Spitty-goodness!

Those are very good tips Admiral! Our mommy hadn't thought of doing that before. She makes Daddy vacuum up our furs and that's a never ending and loud job so we'll let him know the quieter more effective version.

You know Admiral, you should write a kitty advice column.

Great tips - I'll have to try that though I lucked out because my tortie and her brother are SHORT hair. (How did I get so lucky?!)

Your picture just lowered my blood pressure. I looked at it and just sighed so satisfactorily!!

Ah, the life of a cat...

Mummy FURminates us weekly which gets rid of most of shedding fur.....there's now more human hair on the floor than fur......hmm....we wonder if they've invented a HAIRminator?

we don't leave much fur around, but litter? loads! Teri recently put our 4 litterboxes in 1 room and that's cut down on her work a lot. And she has these little 'sweepers' called crumbers, that 'fancy restaurants use to sweep crumb off tablecloths and they work real well for litter scatter.
