Admiral's Mom here

The Admiral, to borrow Katnip Lounge's phrase has had her cranky pants on for two days! Tomorrow will be the third if that happens again

She went through the wringer when she went to the Vet..most particularly with the getting blood from her poor little legs..both of them as he couldn't find a vein in the first one he tried. She cried, and I almost did too. She came home, had a drink, a small bite to eat and has pretty much resided under the bed since. No purring when I have seen her out and tried to pet her.

So, she's hoping as am I that she'll leave the cranky pants under the bed tomorrow. I think that certain brand flea meds with the heart worm protection and the ear mite protection in it did her in. I would swear that's what is making her feel not herself.

She'll never have it again. I'd Rather folks brought in the fleas and we'll deal with them, then.

So, she will be back in charge tomorrow and come to see all of you. She did say to send her love and purrs and some bonks to all her kitty family in the CB.

Poor baby....I have to say she looks adorable in her "cranky pants" and her Santa Hat!!
I must be an awful kitty mama. I NEVER gave Bobo flea meds or heart worm meds and he used to go outside on a leash and in 18 yrs he NEVER had fleas.
I gave Cody the flea/heartworm meds ONCE. Then I read varying reports about it (which weren't good) and I decided never to give it to him again either. He is strictly an indoor cat but as the vet says fleas can come in through the screens but I have never had that happen. Our dog DOES take flea meds but only in the warmer weather months.
I guess I am taking a big risk not giving them to Cody but I just don't think it is worth it.
The Admiral is just mad.....she will come around! ((((hugs))))

Admiral, I really hate to take the Human's side, but maybe you could just purr a tiny tiny bit for your mom, cause she sounds kinda sad? I know it's important to keep them in their place, but maybe she's suffered enough? Time for a little snuggle or two, I think. (And don't you DARE let Ru-Paul de-crankify you!)

I don't understand that about the flears meds etc
because you don't go outside that case how you
get the flears?
Poor thing it must be heaps of drugs in your body
it will take couple of days to recoverd?
By the way your santa hat is cool!
Hope you and your mum's feel better tomorrow.

hey ms. crankypants; you went thru the hellz; you're entitled to feel a bit low. I don't tolerate those flea meds with heartworm, etc. in them either. That Woman always just got regular Advantage for me; once she got the revolution and ALL FIVE of us kits were sick & puking and it was administered by the Vet himself so we know there was no accidental over dosage. It's just too strong for us. We haven't tried the Advantage 'plus' stuff either yet.

Good luck; and good licks to you old gal; xoxo

Poor Admiral! But fleas can cause dreadful illnesses. Have you tried Frontline? I use it once a year or so on the kitties - only when one of our neighbours has fleas - and it works great.

Poor Admiral! And poor Mommy, too! Sounds as if it's been a rough couple of days, and that makes us sad. :(

We sure hope you feel better soon, sweet friend.

Purrs, hugs and nose taps to you both.
