I promised last blog I would show mom who is boss. I did the red herring thing to prepare for my little punishment for her...leaving me all alone into the mid evening. The red herring was climbing up into bed with her first thing last night (I know she loves that) and allowing myself to fall asleep all snugged into her neck and shoulder. (That alone is worth the sacrifice because I know she won't move even if she's uncomfortable, for fear of disturbing me).
After seeing her off into dreamland, I left for my work of the night..patrolling and keeping us safe along with some power sleeping. I had a plan.
It unfolded, that plan, with me jumping onto the bed about 2am and right onto her side with a hard landing. That was on purpose you may be sure. It woke her though she thinks she is discouraging me by not responding. So I took my front paws and made a scrubbing-like motion which I knew was sure to waken her. She tried to ignore me and go back to sleep. Fine. I left but there was a method to my madness...I came back maybe an hour later and did the same thing. I wanted her UP and paying attention to me after all that fawning over the baby kitten Coco last evening.
I finished my work by insistently calling at 6am like it or not. She laid there anyway like a doofus but I could tell she was wide awake.
She gave up at 6:30 and got up. Of course she greeted me properly. I have been calling periodically the rest of the morning. No reason. Just because I can.
So. We'll see who wins this battle. You can see me in my picture..no worries!

Way to go, Admiral! The scrubbing-motion paw action always works!
You are the Mistress of Night Torture! We bow before you. Our Mommy is so used to sleeping with us that we really have to amp it up to get a response...nose biting, bladder leaping, we're sure you know all the tricks. Of course the Rum cocktail in the evening contributes to her "like the dead" slumber!
pee ess: that picture is classic "No Worries", we love the curled toesies...a LOT!

Yo, Admiral, good job! Now mom knows who is boss and she will give you the respect you deserve.

We animals all have our ways to get the attention we want. ruff ... I bow to you dear, Admiral ... ~~Flash
PS ... Angel is taking the heat by sleeping in her favorite yard swing. Every once in a while she comes to lay with me.
PSS ... What award should mom have collected? I'll need to bark at her. ruff ruff ruff

Well, Admiral, yet another great story! You are the Mistress of the Dark in every sense!! And oh my, what a great photo!
O Bast! I hope that baby kitten is not at YOUR house??? My Human has been fawning over the kittenz she says are her "stepchildren" but they better not show their "adorable" little faces around here, let me tell you!
I see that as always you are in control.
haha that photo is priceless!!!!
Oh yes, I can see you're the boss there. I don't pounce on Mom, I just do things she doesn't like, to get her up...works every time. Cute photo too.
